After five years of work as Owner’s Representative for the expansion of The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, the team at HB Cornerstone LLC is ready for playtime.
HB Cornerstone project managers oversaw the design and construction of the transformative expansion of The Strong, an ambitious project playing an integral role in the redevelopment of downtown Rochester.
The Strong’s $75-million project will add 90,000 square feet to the already renowned museum, including a 24,000-square-foot interactive gallery known as ESL Digital Worlds. HB Cornerstone also oversaw creation of an eye-catching 1,000-car parking structure.

Among the additions to The Strong is a state-of-the-art visitor check-in, guest lockers, restrooms, gift shop and administrative offices, as well as a custom space for the video game hall of fame, outdoor play garden, climate-controlled collections storage, and outdoor plaza space.
Across the tenure of the project, HB Cornerstone assisted The Strong’s management team with developing the project scope, assembling and managing the project team, supporting the effort to secure funding, developing the schedule and budget, and coordinating work phases. The team also shepherded the creation of the new parking structure through construction and opening.
